Lillet, starting off 2019!
Introducing my first sweater for 2019, Lillet.
I'm starting off slow this year, with just a bit of detail and a lot of stockinette.
There are times when you just need a soothing knit, and the more I had going on this Fall, the more I craved a little stockinette in a lovely yarn. I ended up with a lot of stockinette, and it felt so good that I ended up with two versions of the same pattern.
Since I knit two, I wrote two. Lillet is worked seamlessly, from the top down and it includes two body options to choose from once you separate arms. The slouchier, longer one is knit in Julie Asselin's soft, cozy Nurtured yarn and the shorter one is worked up in her stunning Leizu Worsted.
I started off with this beautiful lace collar. It's just a little openwork mixed with a couple of cables and rib, but it's distinct and eye-catching and I love how it looked.
There's a little shaping to deepen the back neck, and a bit more shaping to create the front neckline. The sweater just flew off the needles from there. Wide raglan seams, a bit of thought about proportion and silhouette, some bold ribbing, and lots of stockinette.
If you hadn't guessed by the yarn chosen, I've teamed up with my dear friend Julie Asselin once more with this one, and she's going to host a "Julie and Thea" KAL in her Ravelry group, complete with some fabulous prizes - you can knit any BabyCocktails pattern in one of Julie's yarns to participate, but as an extra incentive to maybe knit one of the ones designed special FOR her yarns, the Ravelry code JulieThea will get you 30% off any of my self published Julie patterns from now until 1/24.
Pictured below are Mezcal, Milk Stout, Hot the Top, Green Iguana Mitts and Mint Schnapps, just in case you need a reminder what those past collaborations are.

As for Lillet, all the test knits, a lot more info and the PDF for purchase can be found on the Ravelry page, HERE!
You may have guessed why I chose Lillet, as Julie is from the Montreal area, and speaks French often, so a French-themed cocktail seemed the right way to go!
I need to start mixing up a few things. I haven't cracked my bottle open yet!
